My Camry metallic green paint has peeled off from parts of the bumper, Is there anything I can use or do I have to have it done professionally? Can a peeled off paint be repaired using an auto paint from the store?
Sand it smooth ,wipe with tack cloth, spray with primer (light coats) let drry 24 hrs scuff lightly with scuff pad wipe with tack cloth then paint with desired paint ,1st coat very light , 2nd coat should be light but enough to cover completly , 3rd %26amp; final coat heavy enough not to run(carefull,or you will have to start all over) then same with a clear coat. ***NOTE*** wait 20 min between coats, if the paint dries too much wait 24 hrs to re-coat.. ( FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ON THE CAN, AND USE TACK CLOTH )Can a peeled off paint be repaired using an auto paint from the store?
bad idea, if your willing to put in the elbow work I recommend at least sanding off the base coat to the extent of the paint job. start with some course grit then go to a fine grit. then paint it. otherwise without a good base to stick to the new paint will jsut come off. It all depends on the quality that you want. If it's a new car and you care how it looks just have a local shop patch it up for a few hundred dollars.
