I am restoring a 1983 chevy what would be the best paint choice for me single stage or multi stage? What is the difference in auto body paint?
Cost wise single stage but if you are doing a TRUE restoration you would want a high gloss two stage paint. Base coat / Clear coat.
We use Sikkens
Single stage is what MAACO uses if that helps.
A good professional refinish job on your vehicle would run anywhere between $4500 and $7500 depending on what additional work to the body needs to be done. If you want a color change start on the $7500 end and go up.
A lot depends on where you live and the labor rates for your area.
Most good shops will not do a color change unless they are going to make a lot of profit. It slows production down way too much. What is the difference in auto body paint?
it's more on what you want to spend than anything, maco has a $249 special ,but go with the clear coat paint, it can be sanded and buffed
