Using a 2.0 tip for the primer and a 1.4 for the paintWhat pressure should I be spraying my auto paint with using an HVLP?
good answer, ray! a couple of variables to factor in... what kind of paint are you using? enamel flies at a different pressure than laquer, so you should experiment with the gun settings.using enamel, i usually run 30p.s.i. in, and about 12-15 p.s.i. for a smooth finish.(have to be careful that your pick up tube pressure is hard enough to blow paint, but too much pressure will give you a heavy orange peel effect). help ya?What pressure should I be spraying my auto paint with using an HVLP?
i spray almost everything at 32-34 psi.....seems to work for me....i spray close and fast(3-4 inches away)...give this a test run on a spare panel
It all depends on the compressor, type of paint, and last but not least, your skill level!
start by testing have preasure at 40 and adjust from the back of the gun to let the paint fly
