I want a stripper pole of my very own, but I am kinda tight on money. Could I take a aluminum, or steel conduit pipe to an auto body shop and have it painted so it was nice and smooth like the expensive stripper poles? About how much do you think it would cost?Would auto body paint be a good coating for a stripper pole?
Just buy you some primer and Krylon paint in the color you like then spray it with a clearcoat when you are done. The clearcoat will give it the wet look you are seeking.Would auto body paint be a good coating for a stripper pole?
Why not just polish the pole. Put it in a lathe, and use steel wool. It should come out truly a nice finish.
You could make a poor man's lathe for this - plug one end with a wood dowel - then use an electric drill to spin it using a large diameter (say 1/2';) drill bit. The other end can rest on a ';V'; notch in another piece of wood.
Just have to think a bit outside the box :-)
you don't need paint (unless you like a particular color). what you want is a clear coat (gloss). as the name implies its clear. And will allow a smooth surface like a New car. Just be careful all the daring should try stripper pole. Good Luck...
P.S.
You can get a can of clear coat at walmart - so any where, $ 4.00 a can give or take.
Actually the paint would not wear very well. Try getting them powder-coated, or chrome plated. If you can afford it, see what it costs to get brass pipe instead. I won't be cheap, but it will look much better.
Good luck!
Hot.
Taking it to an auto body shop would probably be quite expensive. Whatever paint you use, I'd think you wouldn't want it too smooth so that you could grip it easily.
It's a stripper pole; use bare metal
nice, and nice avatar, now little 13 year old kid with extreme acne get away from the computer!
Auto body paint is expensive. I think we should be friends.
Not really. If the palms are wet you could slide right off or slip down the pole.
It needs to be bare metal to allow the hands to grip on it.
Yes but there is still prep work involved -
Sanding sealing
priming
sanding again
painting and clearcoat.
See if you can talk to the shop pwner and use some leftover paint.
Usually there are boxes of them all over the place, I know I have a ton of them.
It should be a pretty cheap part to paint, I would do it for about 40.00 - less if you put a show on for the guys.....
Use wood. I'm sure you will like wood. I will help you get splinters out. The auto paint is pretty pricey. If your interested in that wood , let me know.
Chances are that the paint won't be as permanent on a pole as it would be on a car. It's the applying process. If money is a problem, you can try spray-painting it yourself with a good paint, letting it dry and then spraying with a clear to make sure the paint doesn't come off. Nothing worst than sliding on it and having it decorate you.
Have fun!
no
I don't think that would work. But I would love to watch. I have a pole you can dance on

affordable--$119
You can get car body paint in a can a any part store and paint it your
Why don't you just keep your clothes on?
You will probably end up spending more money at a body shop than it would be to get a steel pipe and have it brass plated
strip for them, it will probably be free then!!!
That would be a good idea. the glossy paint that is used on vehicles would work nicely. for a pole about 9 feet tall and with a diameter of about 6 inches....it would probably cost about $50 so go for it. u would not get any kinda of burn because of the slickness and u would slide nicely. XD
