After some contact b/w my silver 93 tercel and a silver recent acura, there are some common scratches including red streaks on both cars. What would this red paint be? Primer? and how might we know where it came from, in order to identify what happened?

Neither of those cars used a red prime coat. they were a grayish tint. 1993 was 16 years ago though, there could be anything under the paint now.
Check all the tail light lenses. The red could have come from there.
Maybe it's just a scratch and it's bleeding? Nah, probably not.
