What is the difference in auto paints?

some cans cost 20 dollars and others cost 150, what is the difference? What is the difference in auto paints?
Name brand is one thing, someone will pay more for the authentic BMW paint color to fix their car rather than say a VW. The reason some paint is more expensive to make is whether the paint is metallic or not. Paint that has the glittery flakes in it to catch more light is much more expensive to make. Also, no 2 batches of metallic paint will ever be exactly the same..What is the difference in auto paints?
type of paint is major cost driver. newer urethanes with hardeners cost a lot more.

complex colours with alot of bright pigments and metallics cost more.
