How much usually for good custom auto paint jobs?

for like a 97' eclipse or 2003 Chrysler Sebring. Like a black or red. I was quoted at one time online for 2500. Is there any places cheaper?How much usually for good custom auto paint jobs?
The cost of a paint job is going to be based on the amount of prep work that is required. Unless the car is prepared properly, and all scratches dents and dings fixed, the paint job will not look good.





You could get a ';scuff and shoot'; type paint job for a few hundred dollars, and every flaw in the vehicle would stand out. You could spend tens of thousands of dollars on a custom paint scheme.

If you mean custom.. by just a simple color with no additional colors or airbrushing or anything like that, while being cheap, you can just go to Maaco. If you dont need any body work done but want a custom color (other then a factory color) they might charge you $1000 or less. Or if your feeling up to it you can do it yourself for around $300. I change the color of my cars like I change my underwear haha. All you need is a compressor, gun, and paint (well also primer, reducers, clear) if you can find someone in their backyard to do it, even better, hit up Napa or some place like that that offers paint, then have someone else do it, its much cheaper that way.
A good paint job will cost $4000 and up for a factory looking finish.
